  1. Indications and Usage Anaerobic Bacterial Infections: Indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria.
  2. Dosage and Administration Administration Route: For intravenous infusion only. Dosage: Dosage varies by infection severity and patient condition; standard clinical regimens typically involve dilution in appropriate volumes for controlled infusion. Renal/Hepatic Impairment: In patients with severe renal impairment, the dosing interval should be extended. In patients with hepatic impairment, dose reduction may be necessary.
  3. Mechanism of Action DNA Damage: Morinidazole enters bacterial and protozoal cells and undergoes reduction of its nitro group by ferredoxin. Cytotoxic Effect: The resulting cytotoxic nitro radical intermediates disrupt the DNA of microbial cells, inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis and leading to cell death.
  4. Safety and Warnings Neurotoxicity: Peripheral neuropathy, seizures, encephalopathy, and aseptic meningitis may occur. The drug should be discontinued if abnormal neurological symptoms or signs appear. Disulfiram-like Reaction: The drug may interfere with alcohol metabolism. Patients should be warned against consuming alcohol during and shortly after treatment to avoid severe reactions. Hypersensitivity: Serious allergic reactions to nitroimidazole derivatives are possible.
  5. Adverse Reactions and Clinical Research Most Common Adverse Reactions: Gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, abdominal pain, metallic taste) and headache are frequent. Clinical Research: Clinical evidence supports its efficacy in treating intra-abdominal, gynecological, and soft tissue anaerobic infections.
  6. Drug Interactions Warfarin and Anticoagulants: Morinidazole can inhibit the metabolism of warfarin and other oral anticoagulants, potentially prolonging the prothrombin time and increasing bleeding risk. Cimetidine: May inhibit the metabolism of morinidazole, prolonging its serum half-life. Alcohol and Disulfiram: Concomitant use is contraindicated due to the risk of disulfiram-like reactions.
  7. Pharmaceutical Information Chemical Composition: Active ingredient: Morinidazole; Solvent: Sodium Chloride Injection. Appearance: Colorless or almost colorless clear liquid. Storage: Store in a well-closed container, protected from light.
