Jidazhi Weiling Bismuth, Magnesium and Sodium Bicarbonate Tablets

1. Indications and Usage
Gastric Disorders: Indicated for chronic gastritis and the relief of gastric pain, heartburn, and acid reflux caused by excessive gastric acid.
2. Dosage and Administration
Adults: One to two tablets per dose, three times daily, taken after meals.
Administration: The tablets must be chewed thoroughly and swallowed with warm water.
3. Mechanism of Action
Mucosal Protection: Bismuth aluminate forms a protective film on the gastric and duodenal mucosa.
Acid Neutralization: Sodium bicarbonate and light magnesium carbonate possess significant antacid effects.
Symptomatic Relief: In combination with licorice extract, cascara, and fennel, the formula neutralizes gastric acid, enhances the mucosal barrier, promotes mucosal regeneration, and relieves gastrointestinal bloating and constipation.
4. Safety and Warnings
Renal Impairment: Contraindicated in patients with renal insufficiency.
Duration of Use: Continuous use should not exceed 7 days. If symptoms do not improve, medical consultation is required.
Cardiovascular Conditions: Use with caution in patients with hypertension or heart disease.
Dietary Restrictions: Alcohol and alcoholic beverages must be avoided. Consumption of fried, greasy, or oily foods should be minimized.
Hypersensitivity: Discontinue use if signs of allergy appear.
5. Adverse Reactions and Clinical Research
Common Adverse Reactions: Adverse reactions are rare. Constipation, loose stools, nausea, and diarrhea have been reported, and these typically resolve upon discontinuation.
Stool Discoloration: The appearance of black stools is a normal phenomenon during therapy.
6. Drug Interactions
Milk: The medication should not be taken concurrently with milk.
Tetracyclines: Concomitant use with tetracycline-class antibiotics may interfere with the absorption of the latter.
