1. Indications and Usage
Hypertension and Spasms: Indicated for mild hypertension, cerebrovascular spasm, and gastrointestinal smooth muscle spasm.
Neurological and Obstetric Uses: Also used for poliomyelitis sequelae, peripheral facial paralysis, and hypertensive syndrome in pregnancy.
2. Dosage and Administration
Hypertension and Gastrointestinal Spasms: The usual adult dosage is 10–20 mg (1–2 tablets) three times daily.
Neurological Disorders: The usual dosage is 5–10 mg (1/2–1 tablet) three times daily.
Administration: Orally administered with water.
3. Mechanism of Action
Vasodilation: Bendazol has a direct relaxing effect on vascular smooth muscle, reducing peripheral resistance and lowering blood pressure.
Antispasmodic Effect: It also relaxes gastrointestinal smooth muscle, providing relief from spasms.
