1. Indications and Usage
Liver Function Improvement: Indicated for the treatment of liver function impairment caused by chronic liver diseases.
2. Dosage and Administration
Adults: The usual dosage is 1 to 3 tablets (20–60 mg) per day, divided into 2 to 3 doses.
Administration: The dosage should be adjusted according to the patient’s age and symptoms.
Pharmacokinetics: Following oral administration, the maximum plasma concentration is reached in approximately 1.1 to 1.2 hours, with a half-life of about 2.8 to 2.9 hours.
3. Mechanism of Action
Energy Metabolism: The drug improves hepatic cellular energy metabolism by inhibiting pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase and increasing oxygen uptake by liver cells.
Hepatoprotection: It is an active component of pangamic acid (Vitamin B15) and demonstrates hepatoprotective effects, including promoting liver regeneration and alleviating fatty liver.
4. Safety and Warnings
Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug or those with severe renal impairment.
Precautions: Use with caution in patients with hypotension. Patients with renal impairment or the elderly should undergo renal function testing prior to use, with dose adjustments as necessary.
