1. Indications and Usage
Venous and Lymphatic Insufficiency: Indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with chronic venous-lymphatic insufficiency (e.g., heavy legs, pain, morning leg swelling, and varicose veins).
Hemorrhoids: Indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with acute hemorrhoidal attacks.
2. Dosage and Administration
Venous Insufficiency: The usual dosage is one 0.5g tablet twice daily (at lunch and dinner).
Acute Hemorrhoids: The dosage is higher for the first 4 days (3 tablets twice daily), followed by 2 tablets twice daily for the next 3 days.
Administration: Should be taken orally with meals.
3. Mechanism of Action
Venous Tone: Diosmin increases venous tone and decreases venous distensibility and venous stasis.
Microcirculation: It normalizes capillary permeability and increases capillary resistance, improving microcirculation.
4. Safety and Warnings
Hemorrhoid Precautions: Treatment of acute hemorrhoids must be short-term. If symptoms do not resolve quickly, a proctological examination is necessary.
