1. Indications and Usage
Intestinal Flora Imbalance: Indicated for the treatment of diarrhea, abdominal distension, and dyspepsia caused by intestinal flora disorders.
Secondary Diarrhea: Used as an adjunctive therapy for acute or chronic diarrhea, including antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
Pediatric Indications: Also indicated for intestinal flora imbalance in infants and children.
2. Dosage and Administration
Adults: The usual dosage is 1 to 2 tablets per dose, 3 times daily.
Children: The dosage is typically 1 tablet per dose, 3 times daily.
Administration: Tablets should be swallowed with warm water or lukewarm boiled water (below 40°C).
Antibiotic Timing: Should be taken at least 2 hours apart from antibiotic therapy to prevent the live bacteria from being killed.
3. Mechanism of Action
Synergistic Regulation: The combination includes Clostridium butyricum (produces butyric acid to repair the mucosal barrier), Bacillus mesentericus (produces enzymes to promote digestion), and Enterococcus (competes with pathogens).
Anaerobic Environment: The strict anaerobes consume oxygen in the gut, creating an environment that favors the growth of beneficial indigenous anaerobic bacteria.
Antagonistic Activity: The bacteria secrete bacteriocins that inhibit the proliferation of pathogenic bacteria.
4. Safety and Warnings
Temperature Control: The drug contains live bacteria and must be taken with water below 40°C to prevent the death of viable spores.
Antibiotic Interaction: If antibiotic therapy is necessary, a significant time interval (at least 2 hours) should be maintained.
Hypersensitivity: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug or its excipients.
5. Adverse Reactions and Clinical Research
Common Adverse Reactions: The drug is generally well-tolerated. Occasionally, mild gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal discomfort or increased flatulence may occur.
Rare Effects: No serious adverse reactions have been commonly reported in clinical studies.
6. Drug Interactions
Antibiotics: Bactericidal and bacteriostatic antibiotics may inhibit the activity or kill the administered bacteria.
Adsorbents: Medications that adsorb toxins (e.g., activated charcoal, bismuth preparations) may reduce the efficacy of the probiotic if taken simultaneously.
Antiviral Agents: Some antiviral drugs may also affect the viability of the bacteria.
7. Pharmaceutical Information
Active Ingredients: Clostridium butyricum, Bacillus mesentericus, and Enterococcus (live spores).
Strength: Typically 250 mg or 280 million CFU per tablet.
Appearance: Sugar-coated or film-coated tablets, removing the coating reveals light yellow powder.
Storage: Keep in a dry and cool place, protected from light and moisture.
