1. Indications and Usage
This product is suitable for patients with reduced tear production caused by ocular inflammation related to keratoconjunctivitis.
2. Dosage and Administration
Recommended Dosage: Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) twice daily, at approximately 12-hour intervals.
Administration: Each single-dose container should be used immediately after opening. Any remaining solution must be discarded.
Contact Lenses: Do not use while wearing contact lenses. Remove lenses before administration and reinsert them after at least 15 minutes.
Combination with Artificial Tears: Can be used in combination with artificial tears, but separate administration by at least 15 minutes.
3. Mechanism of Action
Cyclosporine is an immunosuppressant. As a local immunomodulator, it modulates the immune response at the ocular surface, reducing the inflammation associated with dry eye disease that inhibits tear secretion. The exact mechanism of action remains unclear.
4. Safety and Warnings
Ocular Surface Injury: Ocular surface injury may occur due to contact with the bottle tip during administration. The container tip must not touch the eye or any other surface.
Contraindications: The drug is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cyclosporine or any excipients.
Pediatric Use: The safety and effectiveness in patients under 16 years of age have not been determined.
Pregnancy and Lactation: Use with caution in breastfeeding mothers, as systemic cyclosporine is excreted in human milk.
