1. Indications and Usage
Non-bacterial Diarrhea: Primarily indicated for the treatment of diarrhea caused by indigestion and acute enteritis.
Pediatric Use: Used for the management of diarrhea and dyspepsia in infants and children.
2. Dosage and Administration
Adults: The usual dosage is 3 to 6 tablets per dose, 3 times daily, taken on an empty stomach.
Children: Dosage is determined by age and weight. Generally, it is 1 tablet per dose, 3 times daily (specifically 1 tablet for children aged 1-3 years, 2 tablets for 4-6 years, 3 tablets for 7-9 years, and 4 tablets for 10-12 years).
Administration: The tablets should be swallowed orally with water.
3. Mechanism of Action
Protective Barrier Formation: After oral administration, the drug is not decomposed in the stomach. In the alkaline environment of the intestine, it slowly releases tannic acid.
Protein Precipitation: Tannic acid causes the protein on the intestinal mucosal surface to coagulate and precipitate, forming a protective film.
Constriction and Antidiarrheal: This film reduces irritation, lowers inflammatory exudation, and decreases intestinal peristalsis, thereby exerting astringent and antidiarrheal effects.
4. Safety and Warnings
Contraindication for Bacterial Infection: This drug should not be used for bacterial dysentery or other infectious diarrhea.
Hypersensitivity: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to albumin tannate or its components.
Risk of Constipation: Overuse or excessive dosage may lead to constipation.
Storage: Keep out of reach of children.

Common Adverse Reactions: The most common adverse effect is constipation, which may occur if the dosage is too high.

6. Drug Interactions
Enzyme Inhibitors: The drug may affect the efficacy of pancreatic enzymes, pepsin, and lactase; they should not be taken concurrently.
Alkaline Drugs: Should not be taken with alkaline drugs, as this may destroy B-group vitamins.
