Avida® is the commercial brand name of Trastuzumab Rezetecan for Injection, an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by Hengrui Medicine. It targets HER2 antigen on tumor cell surface, binds specifically to HER2, then internalizes into tumor cells and releases cytotoxic payload to induce tumor cell death.
Main Indications
Treatment of adult patients with unresectable locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors harboring HER2 activating mutations who have received at least one prior systemic therapy.
Clinical Research
The pivotal Phase III clinical trial in China showed that trastuzumab rezetecan significantly improves overall survival and progression-free survival versus control chemotherapy in HER2-mutated advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients;
Phase II study confirmed promising anti-tumor activity and manageable toxicity profile in heavily pretreated HER2-positive gastric cancer and breast cancer populations;
Ongoing trials are exploring its efficacy in other HER2-altered solid tumors.
Common Side Effects
Severe but important risks: Interstitial lung disease/pneumonitis, severe neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, infusion-related reactions;
Common mild adverse reactions: Nausea, fatigue, decreased appetite, anemia, vomiting and elevated transaminases.
