Youtidi® is the commercial brand name of Utidelone Injection, a novel epothilone analogue developed by Chengdu Biostar Pharmaceutical. It stabilizes microtubules, blocks cell mitosis and induces tumor cell apoptosis.
Main Indications
For the treatment of adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer who have received prior chemotherapy including anthracycline and taxane.
Clinical Research
A pivotal phase III multicenter trial demonstrated that utidelone combined with capecitabine significantly prolonged progression-free survival versus capecitabine monotherapy in pretreated metastatic breast cancer patients. Peripheral neuropathy was the notable adverse event, which was mostly manageable.
Common Side Effects
Peripheral neuropathy, nausea, vomiting, alopecia, fatigue;
Other common reactions: musculoskeletal pain, decreased appetite. Rare serious adverse events include severe peripheral neuropathy and myelosuppression.
