Fuxian® is the commercial brand name for document use only. The official registered brand name in China is Fuxian. It is a selective short-acting β₂-adrenergic receptor agonist. It relaxes bronchial smooth muscle to relieve bronchospasm.
Main Indications
For the treatment or prevention of bronchospasm in adult and paediatric patients with reversible obstructive airway disease.
Clinical Research
Clinical studies showed that levosalbutamol produced comparable bronchodilation effect to racemic salbutamol, with less β1-related cardiovascular stimulation. It can rapidly improve pulmonary function within 15 minutes after inhalation and maintain effect for 6–8 hours.
Common Side Effects
Tremor, palpitations, headache;
Other common reactions: nervousness, dry mouth, dizziness. Rare serious adverse events include severe paradoxical bronchospasm, tachycardia and hypersensitivity reactions.
