On June 8, Everest Medicines announced that it has entered into an agreement with箕星药业 (Jixing Pharmaceutical) to acquire the rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize LNZ100 (1.44% aceclidine, US brand name VIZZ) in Greater China (including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan region). Under the terms of the agreement, Everest Medicines will pay Jixing Pharmaceutical an upfront payment and development milestone payments. Everest Medicines will assume the rights, interests, claims, duties, obligations, and liabilities under the license agreement and related ancillary agreements entered into by Jixing Pharmaceutical in April 2022.
LNZ100 is a once-daily ophthalmic solution for the treatment of presbyopia, developed by LENZ Therapeutics. Its active ingredient, aceclidine, is a small-molecule muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) agonist that induces miosis (pupil constriction), thereby producing a pinhole effect that improves near vision. Publicly available information shows that the product has a rapid onset of action within 30 minutes after administration, with effects lasting for up to 10 hours.
In April 2022, Jixing Pharmaceutical in-licensed the exclusive rights to develop and commercialize LNZ100 in Greater China. In July 2025, LNZ100 was approved in the United States and was commercially launched in October of the same year. In September 2025, LNZ100 submitted a New Drug Application (NDA) in China, with approval expected in the first quarter of 2027.
