On June 2, Everest Medicines announced that it has entered into an exclusive licensing and collaboration agreement with Travere Therapeutics, granting Travere exclusive development and commercialization rights for EVER001 (civorebrutinib) in all markets outside Greater China and certain countries in Southeast Asia. Under the terms of the agreement, Everest Medicines will receive an upfront payment of US$112.5 million and is eligible to receive up to US$1.03 billion in development, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments across up to five indications. In addition, Everest Medicines will be entitled to tiered royalties ranging from high single-digit to double-digit percentages based on the annual net sales of EVER001. As innovation in the rare kidney disease space continues to accelerate, patients with many serious diseases still face significant unmet needs and limited treatment options. EVER001 has the potential to become a product covering multiple regulatory indications for a variety of immune-mediated kidney diseases.

BTK is a critical component of the B-cell receptor signaling pathway, regulating the survival, activation, proliferation, and differentiation of B lymphocytes.
