Duoenda® is the commercial brand name of Mitoxantrone Hydrochloride Liposome Injection, a liposomal formulated anthracenedione antineoplastic agent. It intercalates into DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II, disrupting nucleic acid synthesis and inducing tumour cell apoptosis.
Main Indications
For the treatment of relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) in adult patients who have received at least one prior line of standard therapy.
Clinical Research
Clinical trials showed that liposomal mitoxantrone improves drug delivery to tumour tissue and reduces systemic exposure. Compared with conventional mitoxantrone injection, the liposome formulation lowers the risk of cardiotoxicity while maintaining anti-tumour activity, achieving favourable objective response rate in patients with relapsed/refractory PTCL.
Common Side Effects
Myelosuppression including neutropenia, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia;
Other common reactions: nausea, vomiting, alopecia, fatigue, elevated transaminases. Rare serious adverse events include severe cardiotoxicity, stomatitis and infusion-related hypersensitivity reactions.
