Tanneng® is the commercial brand name of Fosaprepitant Dimeglumine for Injection, a prodrug of aprepitant. It is a selective NK-1 receptor antagonist. After intravenous administration, it is rapidly converted to aprepitant, which blocks the binding of substance P to NK-1 receptors, thereby preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
Main Indications
For the prevention of acute and delayed nausea and vomiting associated with highly emetogenic cancer chemotherapy in adult patients.
Clinical Research
Global pivotal phase III trials demonstrated that fosaprepitant combined with 5-HT3 antagonist and dexamethasone significantly improved the complete response rate of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting compared with standard dual antiemetic regimen;
Domestic bioequivalence study confirmed that this generic formulation has consistent pharmacokinetic profile with the reference drug;
Clinical data supported single-dose intravenous administration for convenient antiemetic management before chemotherapy.
Common Side Effects
Severe but important risks: Severe hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis, hypotension;
Common mild adverse reactions: Infusion site pain, headache, fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, anorexia and hiccup.
