On June 11, the NMPA official website showed that the Category 1 new drug Conteltinib Granules from Shouyao Holdings have been approved for marketing as a monotherapy for patients with anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Conteltinib (formerly known as Kangtaitinib, development code: CT-707) is a second-generation ALK multi-target kinase inhibitor independently developed by Shouyao Holdings. According to the Insight database, the drug was first filed for clinical trial in 2014. After a decade of development, its marketing application was submitted in October 2024, and it has finally received approval today. This drug is also the first approved ALK inhibitor in granule formulation in China. For patients with dysphagia or those who have difficulty taking conventional tablets or capsules (such as children, the elderly, or patients with swallowing disorders), the granule formulation is expected to better meet their needs and improve adherence.
