Atolant® is the commercial brand name of Neticonazole Hydrochloride Cream, a topical imidazole antifungal agent developed by Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical. It inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis, damaging fungal cell membranes and exerting fungicidal activity.
Main Indications
For the treatment of superficial skin fungal infections including tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, cutaneous candidiasis and pityriasis versicolor.
Clinical Research
Clinical trials demonstrated that once-daily application of neticonazole achieves high local skin concentrations with minimal systemic absorption. It shows potent activity against dermatophytes and Candida species. High mycological eradication and clinical response rates were observed for tinea and candidal skin infections, with acceptable local tolerability.
Common Side Effects
Local skin irritation, erythema, pruritus;
Other common reactions: burning sensation and dryness at application site. Rare serious adverse events include contact dermatitis and severe hypersensitivity reactions.
Approval Status in China
Original drug Atolant® (Neticonazole Hydrochloride Cream) has not been imported and approved in China. The domestic generic version Lanke® was officially approved for marketing in China in 2023, with the specification of 10g per tube. It is currently a prescription drug.
