Faslodex® is the commercial brand name of Fulvestrant Injection, a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) developed by AstraZeneca. It competitively binds to estrogen receptors, accelerates the degradation of estrogen receptors, blocks estrogen-driven oncogenic signaling, and inhibits proliferation of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer cells.
Main Indications
Monotherapy for hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women with progression following prior endocrine therapy;
First-line monotherapy for untreated hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women;
Combined with CDK4/6 inhibitors for hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

Common Side Effects
Common mild adverse reactions: Injection site pain, hot flushes, fatigue, nausea, arthralgia, bone pain and headache;
Laboratory abnormalities: Transient mild elevation of liver transaminases;
Severe but uncommon risks: Venous thromboembolism, severe hypersensitivity reactions, osteoporosis and pathological fractures.
